LOUISE DYCK (nee Sudermann) Our dear sweet mother, Oma, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Bethania Personal Care at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, John H. Dyck and will be lovingly remembered by her children: Erika and Henry Engbrecht, Erwin and Sandra Dyck, Irene and Wally Boonstra, Heinz Dyck and Debbie Nikkel; grandchildren: Andrew, John, Joel, Michelle, Stephanie, Laura, Kristen and Elena and great-grandson Braeden, as well as siblings Helene Paetkau; Heinrich Sudermann (Margita), Margaret Toews (Harry), and brother-in-law Peter Dyck (Aganetha); sister-in-law Mary Wiebe (Cornelius) along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mum was a quiet, gentle soul, with a quirky sense of humour, who left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to come in contact with her. She did not like to be the centre of attention, preferred instead to be helping in the background and was a kind and caring best friend. Although she had a life-long battle with painful rheumatoid arthritis (which she said was an annoyance) one never heard a complaint and she was able to work hard and enjoy life until her final year. The family wishes to thank the staff, health care aides, volunteers and nurses at Vista Park Lodge and Bethania Personal Care Home for their love, compassion and kindness during our mother's last few months. We also wish to thank her close friends at Bethania Haus, especially, Adina Wall (her guardian angel), who ensured that mum could stay independent for as long as she did. The memorial service will be held in the chapel of Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Avenue at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to Bethania Personal Care Home, MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) or to a charity of your choice.
