RUTH ELLEN REID (nee SIMPKIN) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at Grace Hospice on January 11, 2011, with family by her side. Born September 11, 1931 in Winnipeg to Isabell and Walter Simpkin. She is predeceased by her husband Martin Stewart and daughter Susanne. She is survived by brother Alfred (wife Doreen); children, Leora (David, grandson Oscar), Holly and Lynn, step-daughter Margie (Berg, grandchildren, Stephen and Laura), step-son Ian (Diane, grandchildren, Darren and Dana) and granddaughter Amanda (Phil). After a long and courageous battle with cancer she is now in the hands of our Lord and Saviour. We will remember her strong faith, devotion to her family, kind and gentle ways. Many thanks for the compassionate care she received from the angels of the Palliative Care Program and Riverview Health Centre and the invaluable support given to her family.
