ELAINE CATHERINE (MCKINNON) WINTER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine peacefully on Friday, January 7th, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Allan, and her parents Dave and Ivy McKinnon. She leaves behind her son Darren (Sandra) her daughter Jo-Deen and her grandchildren Tiffany and Dylan. Her sisters Doreen (Cliff) Emily (Jim) and brother Bryan (Linda), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elaine was born May 19th, 1940 in Russell, Manitoba, lived on the family farm, attended school in Millwood and Russell. After high school she attended Success Business College in Brandon. Got her first job in Steinbach, before moving to Winnipeg where she worked at Wilson Stationery, where she met Allan and was married September 07, 1963. Then was a stay at home mom until beginning her job at River East School Division from where she retired in 2005. After retirement she enjoyed spending time at her cottage, especially with her grandchildren. Her happy go with the flow attitude will be missed by all. The family would like to thank everyone at CancerCare. Cremation has occurred, and a private family celebration of her life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request donation to CancerCare Manitoba.
