LUANNE BELL With sad hearts and wonderful memories, the family of Luanne Bell announces her peaceful passing on January 11, 2011 at the age of 56. Although our hearts ache at the loss of such a wonderful person, we are comforted in the knowledge that Luanne has returned home to join her parents and the close friends who have gone before her, and who were deeply missed. Remaining to cherish Luanne's memory are her devoted brother Garry Weintz, daughter Janalee Bell (Craig), son Jason Bell (Cheryl), grandchildren Paige, Evan, Eric, and Rachel as well as her beloved puppy Muffin . Luanne was born and raised in woElmod and spent many fond summers with her family at Camp Neustadt. It was then that she made many of the great friends that she held dear throughout her life. As her family grew, Luanne devoted her life to staying at home to raise her dearly loved children. Over the years, she discovered enjoyment with being involved in bowling leagues as well as the classes and parties that she attended through ballroom dancing. Luanne's artistic talent shone through in the many crafts she enjoyed making and the poetry she wrote. Her family will remember her fondly every Christmas when they hang the hand painted ornaments and display the figurines that Luanne lovingly created for them. The last four years have been a difficult struggle for Luanne as her health had been steadily deteriorating. Over these years, her courageous battle led her to multiple extended stays at St. Boniface Hospital. It was during this time that Luanne was embraced by her surrogate family . With her warm smile, quick wit, and infectious laugh, Luanne made friends with all members of the health care team that provided her with excellent care. In her final days, Luanne's family were comforted by the number of staff who took time out of their busy days to stop by Luanne's room to wish her well and thank her for the laughs. Our family will forever be grateful to all levels of health care staff for being such a wonderful family to Luanne. A memorial service was held Friday, January 14 at Voyage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Luanne's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada Winnipeg Branch, 452 Dovercourt Drive, R3Y 1G4.
