SADIE ELIZABETH FAYKES It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sadie Faykes on Monday, January 10, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Left to mourn Sadie's memory is her daughter Cherylee; sister Muriel; daughter-in-law Beverley; grandchildren, Darrell (Chelsea), Mark, Chris, Jonathan, Lynnette; and great-grandson Jacob. She was predeceased by her husband John; parents William and Sarah; brother Billy; sons Wally and Rod; and her beloved dog Danny. Mom was the common thread that held our family together. When things got tough for us it was not uncommon for her to wipe away our tears with one hand and quickly give out a cookie with the other. In her healthier years she was an avid gardener and a regular fixture at the community bingo game. In keeping with the family's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held at this time. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Deer Lodge Centre's 4 East wing for the compassionate care given to Mom during her lengthy stay. Also, the family wishes to acknowledge her roommates Clarissa and Maria and their extended families for filling the lonely hours when we could not be there. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sadie's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg Manitoba, R3T 0R3. Love leaves a memory no one can steal, Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Mom, we will miss you. Rest in peace.
