Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJENNIE GALAGUN (nee WITYSHEN) Peacefully, on Monday, January 10, 2011, at the Selkirk General Hospital, Jennie Galagun, died at the age of 88 years. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Marvin in 1995; son Donald in 2005; parents Steven and Sophie; brothers Peter, Paul and John; and her sisters Mary and Olga. She is survived by her sisters Anne and Vicky and by many nieces, nephews and friends. Jennie was born May 6,1922 in Fairlight, Saskatchewan. She was married to her husband, Marvin on June 11, 1949 and after they were married they moved to Oshawa, Ontario for six years where their son Donald was born. They later moved to Petersfield, Manitoba where Jennie ran the canteen at the Petersfield Curling Club for 18 years. In 1998 Jennie moved to the Knights Centre in Selkirk, Manitoba. Jennie enjoyed baking and cooking and sharing it with her family and friends. Jennie enjoyed playing bingo and cards with friends at the Knights Centre. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and professional caring. Prayers will be said on Monday, January 17, 2011, in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, Manitoba with Father Dado Parrenas officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jennie's name to Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
