Date of Passing: Jan 17, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE HELEN ETHELWYN RESTALL (nee PARTRIDGE) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother and grandmother, June, on January 17, 2011 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 85. June was predeceased by Bill (her husband of 53 years); sister Shirley; parents William (Art) and Lillian Partridge. Left to mourn her passing are son, Bill, daughter-in-law, Cheryl, grandchildren Julene, Andrew and Cassandra of Saskatoon and son, Howard, daughter-in-law, Theresa, of Winnipeg. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg. She attended Victory, Centennial and St. John's schools. June spent her early childhood with her cousins who became her lifelong friends. She married Bill Restall on October 1, 1949. Mom worked at a variety of jobs during her life including the Abbott Clinic, Lever Bros., Hudson Bay Co., and Statistics Canada. However, her primary focus was homemaker and mother to her three boys. Mom was very proud of her grandfather, Edmund Partridge, who was Reeve of West Kildonan for over 20 years. A school and a street bear his name today. Mom enjoyed happy summer vacations with her family, many of which were on CPR rail passes, and camping outings. These adventures became a source for great stories. Upon Bill's retirement they enjoyed winters in Arizona with many of their friends. Aside from travelling, June's other passions were bingo and the casino. Mom was very proud of her sons and their accomplishments. She was particularly proud of her three grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their kindness. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home with a private family interment in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com
