RUTH LIVINGSTONE With heavy hearts, the family of Ruth Livingstone announces her peaceful passing on January 17, 2011 at Golden Door's Nursing Home, after a long battle with cancer. Left to mourn are her children Bradley Livingstone, Sherri (Livingstone) Schipper, son-in-law Mark and grandson Hayden (Boo-Bear). Also left to mourn are her nephew Grant, brothers-in-law Dick and Greg, many cousins, longtime family friends and former co-workers, all of whom became just as dear as family to Ruth and her children in sickness and in health. Born in Pickle Crow, ON, Mom called both Dryden and Thunder Bay home, having grown up there with her beloved parents Ted and Elsie Jardine and sister Lorraine. She moved to Winnipeg where she spent the remainder of her life after marrying Richard and raising their children. Mom enjoyed many things, from her family, travelling, to her beloved crafts and her 23 years of working at CIBC, where she worked with many amazing people who remained part of her life both after retirement and with her in sickness. Mom, you were always such an inspiration to us all. You showed us how to love unconditionally, patience, compassion and you never waivered in your optimism and belief that everything happens for a reason. You had the strength of an oak tree, bending but never breaking. You shaded us with love and protection but always made sure we flourished in the sunlight. Today our hearts are heavy, but the sky tonight will be one star brighter... In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial to be held on Monday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy.
