HERBERT DAN DELGATY The family is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Herbert Dan Delgaty on January 19, 2011 at Beacon Hill Lodge in Winnipeg at the age of 84. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Emily (nee Rathgeber), brother Robert (June) of Armstrong, BC, brother-in-law Dr. James Talbot of Peoria, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Mary Etta (Young) Delgaty, brothers Colin, Ralph, Leslie, Harvey, and sister Gleetis Talbot. Herbert was born on December 8, 1926, in the RM of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, and was raised there on his parents' farm. In the 1940s, after his father took a job delivering mail, Herbert and his brother Harvey ran the family farm. In 1952, Herbert sold his share of the farm and moved to Winnipeg. In 1956, he met and fell in love with Emily and they were married on January 26, 1957. He worked for one company, Hill Security Van Lines, for 36 years, from 1954 until he retired in 1990. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 27 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel 211 Regent Ave. W. Interment will follow at Transcona Cemetery.
