NORMAN TESSIER Peacefully with his family at his side Norm, aged 72 years passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Arborg District Health Centre. He will be sadly missed by his wife and soul mate, Jean (nee Wazny); daughter, Lori (Rick) White; sons, Vern (Serena) Tessier, Blaine (Laurel) Tessier; grandchildren, Richard (Nicole) White, Erik (Sarah) White, Aira Tessier, Reece Tessier and Addison Tessier. Great-grandchildren: Kennedy, MacKenzie and Abigail. Lovingly remembered by his mother Aurice; sisters, Evelyn and Dian; brothers, Archie, Lawrence, Eugene, Dennis, Wayne, Greg and Brian; as well as extended family and many wonderful friends. Norm was predeceased by his daughter Tammy-Lee Tessier, father Joe Tessier, brother Leo Tessier. Norm was the first born son of Joe and Aurice Tessier, born in Winnipeg, MB and his early years were spent in Broad Valley and the Interlake regions. He later moved to Winnipeg and worked for the CNR. He then married and began his family. He worked in the sheet metal industry for many years, then onto hotel management which brought him back to the Interlake and the town of Arborg. In his later years he was self-employed and brought a much needed service to the area with Interlake Cemetery Services. His talents will be sadly missed by many. Norm loved the outdoor life fishing, camping and most of all hunting and trapping. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as The Winnipeg Game Fish Association. He met and married his loving wife Jean in 1994. They then started a new life which included spending all their winters down in Weslaco, Texas. Norm and Jean could hardly wait to get down there every winter as they have made so many wonderful friends, that they affectionately called his Texas family! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A special Thank-you to the doctors and the caring staff at the Arborg District Hospital and MacKenzie Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arborg Hall in Arborg, MB. Honorary pallbearers are his five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arborg MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
