DAVID CHARLES ROSS May 14, 1925 January 15, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Ross on January 15, 2011 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 85 years. Dave was predeceased by his parents; brother George; and his wives, Alice Ross (Faulkner) and Sylvia Allen-Ross. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Pat Malanchuk, (Reg), granddaughters Nancy Smith (Garth) and Dana Allerton, (Andrew) and three great- grandchildren, Lachlan, Riley and Karisa. A sister, Charlotte Harrison and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Dave was raised in Laurier, Manitoba, leaving to join the Air Force and serve in the Second World War. Following the end of the war, Dave returned to Manitoba. He again rejoined the Forces at approximately age 25 years and served until his retirement. Dave enjoyed many activities, reading and especially found a passion in playing bridge. He was a bright, enthusiastic gentleman who defied the word aging . Even though he was 85 years of age, he never became old. He was certainly an example for all of us on living life with health and independence. Dave was taken from us too quickly but our lives are all better for having had the opportunity to know him. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Dean Bell and the staff of the Medical Intensive Care unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their professional and compassionate care through this difficult time. In accordance with Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
