Left to mourn Annette's passing are her six children; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; two sisters; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers; five sisters; second husband Lawrence (Red) Paget and two step-daughters. Annette was born, raised and went to school in Garland, Manitoba. In her teens she then moved to Solsgirth, Manitoba where she continued her education, commenced employment and met John Choptuik, whom she married in 1953. They were blessed with six children, Arlene, Lorrie, Virginia, Joey, Randy and Maria. Throughout her working career Annette held various positions including working for the Federated Cooperative Association, the Royal Canadian Legion, the Parkland Disability Society, but her highlight was owner-operator of the Yellow Rose Food Service in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan. In her retirement years, she always looked forward to her annual winter vacations down south with her second husband, Red. Annette was always involved and participating in the community, volunteering her time and energy where needed. She dedicated many hours to the local 4H Club, minor sports, air cadets and the Girl Guides. She was an active member with the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Ladies Auxiliary, where she held various board positions, served as a Commanding Officer in the air cadets and was a Second Lieutenant in Her Majesty's Canadian Armed Forces. Throughout Annette's life she participated in various sports but enjoyed curling the most. Some of her hobbies included paper tole, oil painting, ceramics, sewing, needlepoint, cooking, photography, music, dancing and playing cards. Flowers, gardening and nature brought great pleasure and enjoyment to Annette. She treasured spending time with her family and friends and always had a wise word of wisdom to offer. To honor Annette's wishes, a private family Funeral Service will be held at a later date. Annette's wishes were to thank everyone that spent time with her and lent a helping hand in her time of need. Donations in Annette's memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 400 - 141 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
