I met Sylvia in 1983 and knowing her was a blessing. She had love for everyone, and the love for her son William was boundless. I was impressed with her knowledge of literature, and her interest and care about social issues. She loved her family very much, and never stopped thinking about buying them presents. She often talked about her niece and nephew, Katie and Simon. Special mention should be made about her dear friend Jane, who Sylvia often talked about, and whom she always considered to be her best friend. There were many hardships but she has arisen above them. God bless Sylvia! - Posted by: Kent Fines (Spouse) on: Aug 18, 2012

I was just reminiscing with my mother about Sylvia, who was my best friend for the two years I lived in Winnepeg, and decided to try to find her on the internet. I have always remembered Sylvia with great fondness for her sweetness, her imagination, and her loyal and true friendship. I am so very sorry I did not try to find her while she was still alive and can only imagine how deeply she must be missed by those who loved her. My deepest sympathy for her parents, whom I remember as particularly kind and loving people, and to her beloved son.
