Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE LATIMER (nee HOGARTH) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on Monday, January 24, 2011, at the age of 78, with her family by her side. Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Sydney, father William, mother Grace, brothers Jackie and Lyall, and daughters Lynda and Carole-Ann. She leaves to mourn her daughter Susan Neufeld (John), son Bryan Latimer (Joyce), daughter Sheinha Ward (John), daughter Sandra Ketola (Dave), and son-in-law Gary Smyrski (Linda); grandchildren Jacqueline (Marc), Julie (Scott), Sherri, Dallas, Andrew, Laurie (Jeff), Bill (Colleen), Matthew (Karra), Daniel (Courtney), and Paul; great-grandchildren Kyle, Keana, Cameron, Colin, Brooklin, Summer, Brooke, Ryder and many nieces and nephews overseas; also her very special friend Vi Fraser. Joyce was born in Scotland in 1932. She met her love Sydney in England and they were married on October 20, 1951. They came to Canada in 1964, and settled their family in Winnipeg where they resided until Syd's retirement. They moved and built their retirement home in Great Falls, MB. Joyce loved being at home with her family, raising her children and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and grow. She was a member of the Sons of Scotland, and enjoyed the Scottish country dancing. She loved tending to her garden and always had beautiful flower beds. She enjoyed her painting, cribbage games with family and friends, and trips to the Beach with her special friend and best buddy Vi Fraser. Mum we love you and we miss you. You will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts. We will meet you at the gate. Many thanks to the doctors and staff of the Pine Falls Hospital for their tender loving care and kindness. Special thanks to all the guardian angels (her special friends and neighbours) who helped out in the last week. As per Joyce's request cremation has already taken place, and no formal service will be held. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Pine Falls Hospital or a charity of your choice.
