CLARENCE TURNER 1914 - 2011 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather on January 24, 2011. Clare was predeceased by his beloved wife Marge in 1999; parents, Elizabeth and George; brothers, Sidney and George; and sister Betty. He is survived by his children, Joanne (Marco), Glen (Valerie) and Janis (Dieter); grand-children, Kevin (Lisa), Keith (Sveta), Kelly, Chris (Lindsey), Eric (Sam), Dodi (Rick) and Ian (Monica). Papa will also be lovingly remembered by 10 great-grandchildren. Clare was well known for his dapper dress and good looks as well as his signature hat and cigar. He was an avid hunter and fisherman well into his 80's and a true lover of nature. A formidable player in both billiards and cards, blessed with the gift of an enviable memory enabling him to complete the daily crossword puzzles right to the end. He was a gambling man who enjoyed playing the lotteries and making his monthly deposits at the casino. He always said, It's only money! He had a wonderful sense of humour and could always be counted on for a funny story or witty papa euphemism. He especially enjoyed the countless summers at the lake (Sandy Hook) stoking the fire, swatting the flies, feeding the birds and spending time with his family, which was his biggest passion. He was the most kind and generous man we've ever had the privilege to know. He was the true definition of the word GENTLEMAN . His wit and willing smile will live on in our hearts forever. Hup Schnubidy Gup Papa We love and honour you. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
