FAYE STEPHEN (nee Richardson) September 1, 1934 - January 24, 2011 With deep sadness, and a great feeling of loss, the family of Faye Stephen announces her passing at the Victoria General Hospital, after a courageous 18-year struggle with cancer, which she faced with dignity and grace. Her husband and daughter were at her side when she passed. Faye is lovingly remembered by her husband Herb and their two children Tim and Susanne Bezte (Dale) and her most precious granddaughter Katie, who always made her Yaya smile. Faye was born and raised in Winnipeg. When she was in grade 10, at Lord Selkirk High School, she met and fell in love with her life companion Herb. They were married on May 14, 1955 and together they celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage. Faye was always a passionate source of support and guidance to her family, but especially to Herb during his police career. She lived her life always showing kindness and generosity to others. Her fondness for travel, shopping and dining continued until just prior to entering hospital. Many times, over the past years, she expressed contentment with her life and said she had no regrets. Living our days without Faye sharing in them will be the most difficult part of all. Faye's final request was to have an immediate cremation, after a private family viewing, and no formal service. Her ashes will be scattered at three of her favourite places: her home of 55 years in East St. Paul, her cottage at Lester Beach and in Hawaii where she enjoyed so many happy vacations. The family extends sincere thanks to Drs. Ian Maxwell, Rowland Hayward, Jamie Gillespie and Nurse Ann Anderson for 18 years of exceptional care and kindness. Also, thank you to the compassionate nursing staff at the Victoria Hospital (Oncology) and on Ward 4 South. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation (Oncology) 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9. Thank you for being the kind of wife and mother Who blessed our home and family By doing special things for each one of us And loving us unconditionally. Love you lots Yaya NEIL BARDAL INC.
