INGEBORG LUISE COLTER (nee WIECHERN) October 10, 1937 - January 26, 2011 With great sadness we announce the passing of Ingeborg Colter peacefully at her home in Emerson. Predeceased by her parents, Meta and Johann Wiechern; brother Wolfgang and sister Hilda, Inga will be fondly remembered by her husband Danuel and her three sons, Alan, Clifford and Burton; grandsons James and Steven. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Monica and Angelika; brothers Peter and Henry; sisters-in-law Gisela, Eleneor and Cheryl; brothers-in-law Adolph, Robert and Gunter as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mom was born in Bremen, Germany and as a young woman immigrated to Canada to join her family. She was an active member of the Emerson Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Emerson Community Gardens as well as many other community organizations. Mom's passion was her garden where she spent many of her days nurturing her award winning flowers. She enjoyed reading and studying world history. She treasured spending time with her family and friends as well as caring for many rescued and stray dogs through the years. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emerson Community Centre, 101 Church St., Emerson, Manitoba, open to all family and friends who wish to attend. Flowers are welcome, and donations to the Pembina Valley Humane Society, 462 Jefferson Street, Morden, Manitoba, R6M 0C3 are encouraged.
