RUBY TAIT Ruby went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on January 25, 2011 at the age of 83. Remaining to cherish Ruby's memory are her son Garry Tait, and her daughters Carol Horvath and Linda Penny (Ray). Her grandchildren Lisa (Mike), Vickie (Rudy), Ken (Christine), Warren (Barbara) and Gail (Jason) will miss her greatly. Ruby had 11 great-grandchildren; Sean, Matt, Ava, Danielle, Erica, Emma, Brooklynn, Gillian, Braeden, Alex and Regan. Also her brothers Ken, George (Diane), sisters Gladys and Marilyn, sister-in-law Lynn Tait and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Garnet; parents Purl and Anna Munn; brothers Jay, Avery, and Bill; and by her sisters Theobelle, Pearless, Ruth and Grace; and her step-mother Thelma. On October 7, 1927 in Stratton, Ontario Ruby was born. At age three, her family moved to a farm near Emo, Ontario where she grew up. When 16, she moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Garnet in 1946. Ruby was employed at the T. Eaton Company for 23 years until retiring in 1980. She and Garnet moved to Gimli, where she became very active. Her involvement was with her church and with the New Horizons Club, where she was secretary for 12 years. Ruby loved to travel and spent eight years escorting on the Circle Tour Buses, seeing North America from East to West and North to South. Along the way, she made many friends with passengers. She never ceased to marvel at the beauty that God created for our pleasure. Some of her hobbies were gardening, reading, and knitting for the family. She loved participating in bowling, carpet bowling, darts and many other activities. She loved her family and spent many hours playing cards and board games with them, or just talking, laughing, and sharing. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
