LOUIS DUMAS, SR. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis Dumas, a loving husband, father and grandfather, after a courageous battle with cancer at 72 years of age. Forever cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Aline; his daughters Doreen, Joanne (Garett), and son Louis, Jr. (Pauline), his grandchildren Danielle, Derek and Angela, his beloved Smokey, his brother Fred (Alma), and his sisters Denise and Angèle. Dad began working at Super Crete, now Lafarge Ltd., and in May 2010 proudly celebrated his retirement after 50 years. He was affectionately known as Uncle Louie by his co-workers. His family was his true love and he was always there to support and encourage each and every one of us. Every summer dad looked forward to spending his vacation at Hillside Beach. He enjoyed family get-togethers, trying his luck at Club Regent, and especially smoking his pipe while watching hockey on his favourite recliner with Smokey on his lap. Dad may have been a quiet man, but when he spoke, his words were meaningful and his humour made us laugh. Special thanks to his physician, Dr. Holder, and to Dr. Crowe and the nursing staff at Riverview Health Centre. We appreciate their compassion and care during Dad's final moments. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 778 Archibald Street, on Monday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 0R3, (982-2041). Condolences may be sent to www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
