EARLE LESLIE BRACKEN September 19, 1918 January 23, 2011 It is with very deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly beloved father, grandfather affectionately known as Pop , brother, uncle, and friend Earle Leslie Bracken. Dad left us on Sunday January 23, 2011 at his residence, Tudor House in Selkirk, Manitoba. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Ida Grace Titford, Ida's six brothers and three sisters-in-law, his parents Manford and Violet Bracken, brothers John and Howard Bracken; sister Viola Brophy; brother-in-law Dick Williams and sister-in-law Helen Brown. Earle was born and raised on a farm in Tessier, Saskatchewan. Earle, along with his parents and 13 brothers and sisters, moved to Marchand, Manitoba in 1939. They farmed there until moving to Clandeboye in 1944. While in Marchand, Earle married Ida Titford, and together they raised a family of three boys and two girls. Earle and Ida farmed in Clandeboye until they retired in 1976. They spent 40 happy years together until Ida's untimely passing in 1979. It was after Ida's passing that Earle married Ethel Ryan. They were married 30 years until Ethel passed away in 2010. Earle leaves to mourn his absence, his children, Wayne (Ollie), Shaaron (Ron), Terry (Charlotte), Bryan (Phyllis) and Lorraine. He also leaves to mourn four sisters, six brothers, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. In his younger years Earle's passion was hockey and he became a very good player. After moving to Clandeboye, Earle changed sports and became a curler. His team won the odd Club Championship Trophy in Selkirk before Clandeboye built their Curling Rink. Dad was very instrumental in organizing and starting the Clandeboye 4H Dairy Club, which was highly attended. At Earle's request, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to their favourite charity in memory of Earle.
