PETER A. MARTENS Peter Martens, aged 75, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, January 27, 2011 after battling vascular disease. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary (Friesen) Martens; daughter Gail; sons, Wayne, Gary and (Kim) Martens. Peter loved his grandchildren, Mark, Sheena, Justin and Jaden and his great-grandson Corbin. Peter was born in Grunthal, Manitoba on July 13, 1935, the son of Abram and Katerina Martens. Peter is survived by his sisters, Margaret, Helen and Alice; brothers, Henry (Dorothy), John, Art (Sarah). A celebration of Peter's life will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service. A special thank you to Pastor Lorne Everett, Evangelical Free Church and the ICU staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation and interment at a later date.
