ROBERT JOSEPH LYTWYN
Date of Passing: Jan 28, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOSEPH LYTWYN Peacefully, with family by his side, Bob Lytwyn, 63, passed on at the Grace General Hospital on Friday, January 28, 2011. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret (Maggie); brother Steve (Joan); sister Barb (Pierre), sister Sharon (Rob); nephews, Chris and Shawn; and niece Sarah; by his adopted family, Michelle (Dave); grandchildren, Mason, Jessie and Christopher; and by his special friends, George and Mary Sumka plus many close friends. Bob was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Transcona. He worked many years at Canada Packers, and then moved to BC, where he loved every minute of it. After 10 years, he moved back to Winnipeg and worked at Maple Leaf Foods, then more recently at Manitoba Lotteries, where he loved going to work every day until his health forced him to retire. Bob loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the cottage at Hillside Beach, playing cards (cribbage and poker) and War Craft. One of the highlights of his spring was volunteering at the greenhouse, and he always kept a beautiful yard and garden. Family and friends were always a priority with Bob. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Roman and Jean Lytwyn, and his first wife, Connie. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital in emergency and on the third floor, especially Gwen and Gianna and Dr. Borritt. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Transcona Funeral Chapel Ltd, 1800 Day Street on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be done later in the year in the countryside he loved. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba would be greatly appreciated.
