JOHN RUDOLF TOMAKA It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of John Rudolf Tomaka on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. John peacefully passed away at his home in Winnipeg at the extraordinary age of 90 years. Remaining to forever cherish John's memory are his daughter Louise; three grandchildren, Blue, Chaz and Dallas (mother Teresa and brothers, Billy, Matthew and Thomas); his brothers, Roman Tomaka, Ludwig Tomaka in Poland; two sisters, Genoweja Jezak in Poland, Bronislawa Tomaka in Lwow; several nieces and nephews in Poland; as well as other relatives and many, many friends in Canada, Poland and the USA. He was predeceased by wife Karolina; son Richard; daughter-in-law Rose; brother Emil Tomaka; sister Janina Tomaka Kurtycz; as well as both parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with Oblate Father, presiding. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Mass. The family would like to extend special thanks to Blue and Chaz, Stan and Helen Soltys, Debby and Tony. Should friends so desire, memorial donations in John's name may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or any other charity of one's choice.
