Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAHAM J. ARNOLD C.M., LL.D. Abraham J. Arnold C.M., LL.D. died peacefully at home in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 28, 2011 at the age of 88. Abe was the beloved husband for 66 years of Bertha (Ander). He was the father of Mark Arnold and his wife Joyce Weinman, Shelley Chochinov and her husband Barry and the Late Frances Arnold. Abe was the honoured grandfather and much loved Pappa of Vanessa Arnold, Jonah Arnold, Manya Chochinov, Jennifer Thorsteinsson, Bryon Chochinov and Jeremiah (Jem ) Arnold. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren. Abe was a tireless and relentless advocate for the rights, liberty and equality of all people. Abe was an accomplished author and noted Canadian Jewish Historian. In keeping with Abe's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at CHAPEL LAWN, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, arrangements made through BEIT CHAIM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ABE ARNOLD ORAL HISTORY PROJECT at the University of Winnipeg, 705 - 491 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2E4, in care of Dr. NOLAN REILLY. The family would like to thank the homecare workers and Dr. Raymond Singer for their long term care and support. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 201 - 323 Wellington Cres., Hampton Green, Winnipeg, MB.
