DANIEL KITCHEN September 16, 1930 - January 30, 2011 Sadly we announce the passing of Dan, beloved husband of Heather, father to Nanci (Vern), Jeff (Sharon), and Jane (Jon), Grampa to Marley, Jennifer, Craig, Ben and Anna. Dan was born and raised in Winnipeg where he resided, worked and raised his family. He worked many years in the Assurance business and did a stint as a courier. After his retirement he volunteered with Meals on Wheels for seven years. His great passion was building and flying free flight planes, which he did until a few years ago. He also served on the executive of MAAC for many years. Dad and Heather did some travelling, many times to Clearwater Bay, a much loved spot for Dad. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. H. D. and Enid Kitchen, his sister Enid Ruth and his Auntie Pat. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for the excellent care Dad received. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
