Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA JEAN ROMANOFF August 5, 1949 - January 22, 2011 Peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2011, Linda passed away due to complications associated with Spina Bifida. Linda was 61 years young. Linda was born with Spina Bifida but never looked at it as a handicap but rather as a challenge. When younger, Linda could walk, dance and swim. Later in life when restricted to a wheelchair it still didn't stop her from living, learning, working and travelling. Often Linda took courses to further her knowledge and one gave her the opportunity to work at Seven Oaks Hospital for several years as a medical secretary. Eventually working long hours became too exhausting for Linda so she opted for part-time positions and volunteer work. One place Linda volunteered at was the Independent Living Resource Centre, assisting others with issues similar to her own. Over the past few years Linda worked at View Points doing telephone surveys. Linda often spoke of how much she enjoyed the job and that her boss Noreen was just great. In addition to many friends and relatives, Linda was predeceased by the love of her life, soul mate and best friend Gerry Marcoux who she enjoyed 13 wonderful years with. Surviving, missing and loving Linda are her parents Morris and Shirley Romanoff; oldest sister Sharon Romanoff (Dana Hickman); youngest sister Holly Coppens (Terry); niece Jessica Romanoff (fiancé Ryan) and her children JessieRae, Tommy, Cassie and Gabby; niece Dana Hangle (Paul) and their children Courtney, Dakota and Colby; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. The Romanoff family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital for their efforts to keep Linda here with us. Instead of flowers, please make a donation in Linda's name to the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities or the Alzheimer's Society. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road (at Ness).
