ALAN PETER BAZAN After a lengthy illness, Alan, aged 40, passed away Sunday, January 30 2011 at the Stonewall Hospital. Alan was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on April 1, 1970 to Joyce and Peter Bazan. Alan was predeceased by his father Peter in 1983. Survived by his loving mother Joyce; sisters Marlene (Ted) and Margaret (Rick) and brother Gary (Gayle); nephews Chris and Bradley and nieces, Heather, Amy, Lisa, Erin, Allison and Lauren. After growing up in Selkirk, Alan moved to Stonewall and worked at the Arris Centre. Alan loved the outdoors by going on long walks and bike riding. He enjoyed parties and loved to dance. When he was younger he loved bowling and was chosen to go to the Special Olympics. He loved gatherings with family (especially being with his nephew Chris). He enjoyed his summers at the family cottage at Winnipeg Beach, going on fishing trips and last year when he went on his first Mexican cruise. Alan was loved by all that knew him, the staff at his group home, staff at the Arris Centre, friends and of course his family. The family would like to thank all his friends and workers in Stonewall who made his life so fulfilling and being there for him during his illness. The family would also like to thank the staff at Stonewall Hospital for their caring support for Alan and his family. Pallbearers will be Alan's nephews; Chris, David, Bradley and his nieces; Heather, Erin and Allison. Alan didn't need a lot in his life and took delight from life's simplest and greatest pleasures ... family and friends. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Notre Dame Catholic Church, 269 Jemina Street in Selkirk, with Father Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Interment will take place at the Notre Dame Cemetery in Selkirk. The suffering is over, rest in peace my son. Love Mom.
