Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH AUSTFORD Joseph Mundi Austford passed away January 29, 2011 at the River East Personal Care Home after a battle with cancer that proved his tenacity for life. He achieved his goal of reaching his 80th birthday. Joe was born in Vestfold, Manitoba on May 1 1930. He is survived by his three daughters: Darlene Pinkos (Bruce), Jo-Ann Panchuk (Grant) and Dianne Joyal, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his former wife Ann and granddaughter Destiny. Joe grew up on a farm and dabbled in many different types of jobs. Joe married Ann Halkovich in 1954. He was blessed with the determination and tireless effort of his wife Ann without whom he would not have managed. He enjoyed family, food, four-legged friends, driving his car and CJOB. Joe's final years in the River East Personal Care Centre were spent surrounded by the loving fellowship of the staff and residents. Special thanks for the gracious and outstanding care and support given to Joe and his family in his final hours; heartfelt appreciation goes to Annette, Myrna and Maria. A private funeral was held with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 0R3.
