Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN THOMAS WALL 1919 - 2011 Peacefully on February 2, 2011, after a brief illness Al passed away at the age of 92 years at the Victoria Hospital. Al was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Bernice, his daughter Marilyn and son David. He was also predeceased by his mother Phoebe, father Thomas and brother Edwin. Left to cherish his memory are sons Barry (Jackie), Bruce (Jan), Neil (Sandy), Ian (Bernadette) and daughter-in-law Cheryl; Granddaughters Jennifer (Jason), Madison; Grandsons Derrick (Leanne), Kevin (girlfriend Brooke), Joshua, Evan, Mason, Jackson, Nick, Tony and Great-granddaughter Emma. Al was born and raised in England. He served as a Medic in the British Army till the end of the War. After the Army he joined the Police Force in England. Al met Bernice during the War and in 1949 they moved to Winnipeg where he joined the Winnipeg Police Service retiring in 1978. Al was an avid boxer throughout his life and became an international judge at 1975 Summer Olympics and formed the Pan-Am Boxing Club in Winnipeg. Al was a devoted husband and father to his family. He provided countless hours of volunteering at the Deer Lodge Center. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage, Winnipeg on Wednesday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CNIB.
