MARJORIE (MIDGE) J. ELSON 1924 - 2011 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Midge passed away at the Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 86 years. Midge will be greatly missed by her family, Mike (Barb), Ron (Karen); grandchildren Jo-Anne and Sarah (Brent); as well as long time friends. She was predeceased by her parents and husband Harry Elson. Midge was born in Yorkton, SK. Later she moved to Regina, where she furthered her education in office work. Midge moved to Toronto to work where she met her loving husband Harry of 60 years. Being in the forces they lived in various bases overseas and Canada. Retiring in Winnipeg and building their home in Charleswood, Midge was always so outgoing, loving her family, life, people, animals, gardens and her crafts. She had been a resident of the Fred Douglas Lodge for the last five years. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Fred Douglas staff (Evergreen unit) for their support and loving care. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honour to the Fred Douglas Society, 1275 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2X 0B2 or the Alzheimer Society, Unit 10, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
