Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON ARCHIBALD ANDERSON It is with sadness and happy memories we announce the passing of Gordon, husband of Myrtle of Lundar, MB and father of Neil Anderson of Carlton Place, ON, on February 1, 2011 at the Lundar Personal Care Home. Gordon is also survived by two stepdaughters Bonnie Korzeniowski of Winnipeg and Dorene Petersen of Lundar, MB. He was also a Grandpa Gord to eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Gordon was predeceased by his oldest son John on November 29, 2000 and his first wife Lorraine in 1996. He joined the army in 1942 at the age of 19 and served in England, France and Germany, returning home for discharge in March 1946. From 1946 to 1954 he was employed with a local industry in accounting. During this time he studied for a certified general accountant (C.G.A.), passing the final exam in 1959. In 1966 he was granted the Certified Internal Auditor designation (C.I.A.). Gordon was a Director of the Ottawa Chapter of the C.G.A. from 1963 to 1967 and was its chairman in 1967. For this he was awarded a Life Membership in 1974, the highest honour the Association can bestow on a member. Gordon was a member of the Federal Government from 1954 as an Auditor, remaining there until his retirement as an Audit Manager in December of 1980. Gordon was a Life Member in several Masonic Lodges in Ottawa, a member of the Tunis Shrine Temple in Ottawa, the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Lundar Legion Branch #185 of Lundar, MB. Gordon and his first wife Lorraine enjoyed many happy years in their second home in Florida until her passing in 1996. Gordon then met and married Myrtle Grant in Florida in 1999. Gordon and Myrtle moved to Lundar, MB in 2002 where he spent many happy hours with his two new little boys who he enjoyed watching grow. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Gordon's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2010 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow at a later date at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Maitland, ON to be beside his first wife Lorraine. The family would like to thank Dr. Burnet and staff at the Lundar Personal Care Home for the wonderful care Gordon received over the years.
