KATHY VOGEL Kathy (Katharina) Vogel (nee Varga), born on December 11, 1940, died on January 30, 2011, unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Yugoslavia, raised in Germany by her parents Anna and Adam Varga. She was predeceased by both her parents as well as her brother, Josef Varga. She was the oldest of four children. She immigrated to Canada in 1959 and landed in Winnipeg, MB. She would make Winnipeg and then Anola her life-long home. She married Oswald Helmut Vogel in September 1960. They had four children before their divorce in 1989. She is deeply missed by her family. She is survived by her four children and their spouses and families. Mourning her physical absence are: daughter and son-in-law, Tanja and Michael Champagne and grandchildren Madelaine, MariLynn, Michael, MarieAnnie and Mary-Jane; son and daughter-in-law Gordon and Deanna Lounsbury and granddaughter, Sydney; daughter and son-in-law Dolores and Mark Bishop and granddaughter Sydney; daughter and son-in-law Michaele and Scott Williams and grandson Justin. She is also survived by her two brothers Richard and Werner Varga who live in Germany. Kathy, our mother, grandmother and friend, was passionate about her personal belief and relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a member of Mountain Andrews All-Nations Seventh Day Adventist Church for many years. She had a huge network of friends through church, SunRise Lodge, the Over-55 club in Anola, MB; the Officers Club in Winnipeg and through her participation in the outreach ministries of the Mountain-Andrews All Nations Church. She loved each and every adult that came to these meetings as well as her kids', as she would call them, through the Youth Ministry program. Kathy loved all her children with a passion. But as much as she loved her children, she really, really, really got into being a grandma! She would share her love of art, crafting, singing, music, dress-up, hiking and camping with each and every one of them. She also loved to walk alot as her friends in Anola can attest to. Kathy truly tried to live her life as Jesus did, with agape love' - the true love that is mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13, toward all she met. She lived to serve, just as Jesus did. She would often tell her children, that she was ready to die at any time as she was at peace with my God'. Mom you will be missed by all of us. Thank you for loving and guiding us. You will always be a part of us. Jesus said to her I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this? John 11: 25, 26.
