AMY GRACE HUHN (FRENCH) It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Grace on Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Pine Falls Hospital at age 94. Grace was born December 13, 1916 to Christena and Walter French and was sister to Lorna, Jack, Walter and Fern. She lived in Pine Falls for most of her life. On November 2, 1935, she married Jack Huhn and together they raised five children. They were devoted parents and created a close family relationship. Many wonderful summers were spent with their family and friends at their cottage at White Mud Falls. Grace was a long-standing member of the Pine Falls United Church, having served as an elder and board member, as a member of the U.C.W. and as a member of the choir. She was very active in the Rebekah Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion and Pine Falls Hospital Auxiliary, holding many offices in each. Grace was known throughout the area for her beautiful singing voice. As a young girl, she sang in the movie theatre during silent movies and over the years sang at many weddings and functions. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Jack (1981) and daughter Margaret Burton (2010). Left to cherish her memory are: son, John; daughters, Joan Jardine (children Tammy and Tony (Valerie), his children, Christopher (Nicole, son Sebastian), Stephen (Ciara), and Kimberley (daughter Kennedy)); Catherine Wenski (Frank); Grace Simmons (Gary, children Brent (Chantel) and Melissa Csaszar (Andrew, son Dylan)); son-in-law Robert Burton (children Bob (Penny, children Tara and Mark), Cathy, Doug, Lisa (son Ethan) and Roslynne Willer (Ryan, son Kaspir)); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Following Grace's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service. A private gathering to honour her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army or other charity of your choice.
