ELSIE SYMONE (STOVE) RUTA May 6, 1925 - February 4, 2011 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother is finally at peace after an eight year struggle with Parkinsons. Sadly on February 4, 2011, Elsie Ruta passed away at Tache Centre. Elsie was predeceased by her parents Richard and Emma Stove; her husband Tony and her son Norm. She is survived by her son Ken (Lynette); daughter-in-law Wendy; grandson Rick (Melissah) and great-grandson Justis. At 16 years old, Elsie worked at Weststeel Roscoe then later she met her future husband Tony at Grand Beach. Together they had a full life, raising their two sons. In their later years they volunteered at the Archwood Seniors Club, doing some of the big jobs like cooking all the meals for their weekly events. Elsie also volunteered for ten years or so at Fehr's Beaver Bus Lines, filling up buses to travel on casino ventures where the buses would often go through Woodridge on the way back to stop for the Fall Suppers. Elsie really loved Woodridge and all her friends there. And boy could she cook, her whole family would know when it was time to eat! Elsie's love of gardening often involved her son Ken who inherited her green thumb and love of gardening. Dogs also had a special place in her heart, especially her three Patti's and one Ginger. We would like to give a very special thank you to some very special individuals, all the staff of wards 3 ABC, the Health Care Aids, Social Workers and Cleaners at Tache Center. It takes a very special person to be a caregiver to the elderly and our sincere heartfelt thanks go to you. Your care and compassion and all that you do mean more than can be expressed here. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home with viewing from 1:30 p.m. -2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson Society would be greatly appreciated.
