Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN STINE On Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the Pinawa Hospital, Helen Stine passed away. Helen is survived by her two sons, Sid (Karen) and Ed (Andrea), three grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer, and Daniel, and brother Don Lagsdin. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roger, her parents Charlie and Tekla, and her brothers Oscar and Waldie. Helen was born on June 6, 1929 in Winnipeg and spent her childhood on the farm at Lettonia on Lac du Bonnet Lake. Helen began grade school at seven years of age and graduated from high school at 16. She attended university in Michigan, earning a B.S. from Western Michigan University and a M.Ed. from Wayne University. Her teaching career began in Bellevue, Michigan, where she met and married Roger. The family moved to Lac du Bonnet in 1958, where her parents lived. She enjoyed a long teaching career in Lac du Bonnet, where she taught first and second grades and high school. A warm, generous, kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother, her passions were her family, her church, her garden, travel, baking, teaching and books. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Lac du Bonnet, MB, interment at the Lettonia cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the church one-half hour prior to the service.
