Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN JOYCE (BLUE) CHAPMAN (nee HALLETT) November 22, 1922 - February 4, 2011 It is with sadness and happy memories we announce the passing of our mother, Joyce Blue Chapman on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish her memory are her 11 children, Bev Moss (Peter), Linda Shopka (Brian), Judy Hossack, John Chapman (Kathy), Rob Chapman (Barb), Wendy Thomson (Rob), Susan Ollinger, Debbie Eden (Mitch), Michael Chapman, Kerry Hill (Dean), Tracey McGill (Mike); 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters Shirley, Pat; special niece Brenda, and her cat, Minx. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Stan Chapman; grandson Shawn; parents Walter and Lillie Hallett; sister Joan; and brothers Jack, Gordon and Bill. Mum was born November 22, 1922 and lived her entire life in St. James. She met dad at a skating rink in 1944 and two years later, they were married. She spent the rest of her life being a loving mother to her 11 children and their families. For 38 years Mum spent her summers at the cottage in Sandy Hook where she loved the beach, feeding the birds, berry picking, sitting by the fire and visiting with her good friends Joe and Caroll. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, oil painting, gardening and sharing information about her family heritage. On Thursday, February 10, 2011, a celebration of Mum's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate Street. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Riverview for the excellent care she received during her stay. A special thanks to her Guardian Angel, Olivia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mum's memory to St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate St., Winnipeg, MB R3J 1T9 (Old Church Maintenance), Palliative Care, c/o Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4, or a charity of your choice.
