Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCYRIL LEO MCKAY After 16 years of battling cancer, Cyril passed away peacefully with his wife and three children by his side at Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon on Sunday, February 6, 2011. He was predeceased by his mother Rose McKay (nee Desjarlais), father Alexander McKay, sister Cecile Piche (nee McKay). He is survived by his wife May, of 41 years; son Kelly (Josie), Chasity, Lora-Lee and Alexie; daughter Claudia (Adam), Skyler, Charmaine and Kaleb; daughter April (Leonard), Heather, Hannah and Tannon; brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Cyril worked in the construction area for many years, starting in Ball Lake, ON, where he met his wife May Berle of Dyment, ON, they married in Dinorwic, ON. They lived in St. Laurent for a couple of years where he worked on a farm and the Assiniboine Downs. Later on moved to Alberta to work in construction. Then moved back to St. Laurent with his family for 15 years. Moved to Dyment, ON where he and his wife farmed for 15 years, then resided in Inwood, MB six years ago. Cyril's enjoyments in life were his grandchildren which included hunting, fishing and teaching them all about horses, attending events such as barrel racing, playing hockey, trail rides or sitting outside by the fire while grandma cooked bannock on the old cook stove. Cyril celebrated 24 years of sobriety on February 5, 2011. Prayers will be said on Saturday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, cremation will follow. Family interment will take place at a later date. In Cyril's honour please wear your cowboy hat on Saturday. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
