KRISHNA UPADHYAYA 1936 - 2011 It is with a heavy heart that the family of Krishna C. Upadhyaya of Winnipeg announces his passing on February 6, 2011 at the age of 74 years. He was predeceased last year by his wife of 46 years, Neeta. Remaining to forever cherish memories of Krishna are children Hersh (Chantille) and Gaurav (Joanna); grandchildren David and Anjuli; foster children Casara and Lindsay; his siblings late Saroj (Shiv Dutt), Kumar (Usha), late Swaroop (Meena) and Shashi (Shyam); his in-laws in India: Meena (Sridhar), Ashok (Suman), Lalit, Mohan (Vibha) and Asha (Dharamendra), and many other friends and family. Krishna was in India and completed his degree in Engineering at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He then worked in England and Germany before returning to India to work for the National Mining Development Corp (NMDC). He then got married, had two sons, and rose to increasing levels of responsibilities becoming head of NMDC's diamond mines in Panna, India before moving to work in Zambia for five years. Subsequently, he immigrated to Canada where he faced restrictions that did not enable him work in his profession, so he managed and owned a series of local businesses in Winnipeg. After retiring, he contributed to the betterment of a number of lives as a caring foster parent. A Hindu funeral service will take place at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Thursday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.   • Daddy was his nickname I miss him so much. I wish i could have also spend more time with him, he would teach me how to count numbers by the lines in the in your hands. He would talk about his brothers and I miss him everyday watching him go was sad for me I never wanted my parents to left without saying goodbye.
