Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECIL MCDONALD Suddenly, at home, Cecil passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the age of 93. Cecil was predeceased by his wife Eva in October 2009 whom he has missed dearly. He will be sadly missed by his children, Lynn Carter, Rick, Doug (Sharron), Donna Kirkness (Willie), Brent (Conni Cartlidge), Colleen Waterman (Dale), Shelley Alexander (Bruce) and Scott (Laura); grandchildren, Carrie Lynn (Blaine), Jay, Diana (Paul), Dana (Christian), Chris (Tina), Mandy (Tony), Jessica (Brad), Britney, Ari (Morgan), Ian, Mary (Steve), Heather, Dylan, Joe, Madalynne and Sadie; great-grandchildren, Kalee, Morgan, Jillian, Greyson and Bridgette. Dad was born in Clandeboye on June 24, 1917. He met Mom in the spring of 1942. They were married on September 29, 1945. In the early years they moved around and finally settled in Selkirk to raise their eight children. Dad and Mom enjoyed many happy trips during their retirement. At home or away, the greatest love of his life was Mom and his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Selkirk United Church, 202 McLean Avenue, Selkirk, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cec's memory to the United Church Building Fund, changed Box 67, Selkirk, MB R1A 2B1.
