Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHALDOR (DORI) ROBERT BJARNARSON It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dori Bjarnarson on February 9, 2011. Dori was born on October 22, 1923 in Gladstone Manitoba. He started school at Steele Bridge in 1929 and then completed Grade 10 by correspondence. Dori worked on construction running a cat and then the family owned the McLeod's store for a few years. In 1950 he married Olive Gilman. They raised four children on the farm. In 1966 he was nominated and elected as the Reeve for the Municipality Of Westbourne. He held this position for 26 years. He has served on various boards including The Seven Regions Board and Third Crossing Manor Board. Dori enjoyed curling, hunting and travelling over the years. He was also a member of the Gladstone Elks. Dori was the last surviving member of his family. He was predeceased by his mother Arn-Bjorg, father Gudman, half-brothers Paul Anderson, Louis Anderson, brothers Valdi, Leonard, and Ronald, sisters, Lillian, Sylvia, and Flossie. Dori is survived by his wife Olive, children Leon, Bonnie (Ted), Blaine (Helen), and Randy (Shelley), ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
