Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN ANASTASIA BAXTED (LISOSKY) It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest mother, Helen, on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the age of almost 92 at Middlechurch Care Home. Helen is survived and will be greatly missed by her two sons Jim (Carol) and Ron (Diane); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leo Marinzel, as well as her parents Paul and Anna Lisosky; four brothers Pete, Casmir, Tony and Steve; and one sister, Bertha. Helen was born March 20, 1919, and grew up in Stead, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg at the age of 14 to find work and did so as a waitress at numerous restaurants in Winnipeg. She spent 35 years at Rae and Jerry's Steakhouse making many friends that lasted long after she retired in 1984. The most important part of Helen's life were her sons Jim and Ron. She gave her love, her heart and her time unselfishly to them. Mom was a very loving and caring person who placed everyone elses needs before her own. She was compassionate, sensitive, gentle and kind. In accordance with Helen's wishes a private service and interment next to her parents in Thalberg will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. The family also wants to acknowledge the care and love extended to our mother at Middlechurch Home by all of the staff who affectionately called her Matko . And a special thank you to her sitters who also provided companionship while she was there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. IN OUR HEARTS ALWAYS MATKO!
