VALERIE LAUZE (nee YOUNG) 1945 2011 It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Valerie, on February 12, 2011 at the age of 65 years. She leaves behind her husband Gilles, daughters Lynda (Don) Van Kooten of Great Falls, MB and Lisa Davis in Vancouver, BC, as well as the great joy of her life, grandchildren Vanessa and Tyler Van Kooten, Madelyn and Spencer Davis, her foster grandchildren and her darling little angel great-granddaughter Cheyenne. Among others that she loved were her three sisters Eloise Reive and Ollie Wold of Langley, BC and Lee (Gerry) Dephoure of Tampa, Florida, sons-in-law Ian and Arthur, her sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews and longtime close friend Jayne Dear and many other friends. Valerie was predeceased by her parents Oliver (1991) and Esther Young (2007) (nee Holbrook) and brother Russell (1949). Valerie was born on October 18, 1945 in Birch River, MB where she was raised and educated. She moved to Winnipeg as a young woman where she met and married her husband Gil of 47 years and where they raised their family. Valerie continued to upgrade her education and worked several years in sales management until leaving the work force due to a longtime struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with interment to follow. We wish to extend a special thanks to those who so valiantly tried to resuscitate her.
