HILDA MARTHA CASPER May 27, 1923 - February 12, 2011 After a courageous battle with heart and stroke, it is with deep regret we announce the death of Hilda Casper on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the age of 87 years. Left to cherish Hilda's memory are her sons Paul Jr. and Don (Vicki); daughter Lois (Gerry); granddaughters Coral (Chris), Stephanie (Kevin), Layla (Michael), Kaitlyn; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, daughter Eleanor; grandsons Bobbie and Michael; sister Elsie; mother Alice and father Gustave. Our Mother was born in Mazenod, SK. Later her father moved his family to Emerson where she grew up and met Paul Casper, the love of her life. They moved to Whitemouth and later to Winnipeg to raise their children. Hilda will be fondly remembered for her love of entertaining with her accordion and mouth organ, the beautiful afghans and towelettes she crocheted that are enjoyed in homes both near and as far away as Australia and Zurich, her generosity and humour, delight in the smallest of things, and most of all the boundless love she extended to her family and friends. In compliance with Hilda's wishes a Private Funeral Service will be held for family and close friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Grace Hospital I.C.U.; St. Boniface Hospital and the Home Care Staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
