Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSS JERRY MASNYK October 20, 1927 - February 12, 2011 Peacefully on Saturday, February 12, 2011, with his family at his side, Ross passed away at Oakview Place. Ross was predeceased by his parents Michael and Pauline; two brothers William and Stephan; two sisters Tilly and Toni. He will be sadly missed by his wife Rose; sons Robert, Greg (Rose), Howard (Susan); three grandchildren Matthew, Amanda, and Michael. Also remembered by sisters Rose, Anne (John), Helen (Art) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ross was born October 20, 1927 in St. Norbert, MB where his Mom and Dad farmed. Later on in life he worked at the Fort Garry Hotel where he met Rose. They were married June 26, 1954. Rose worked at Canada Packers, then in 1955 he started working at Canada Cement Lafarge. He started as an office clerk and retired in 1989 as office manager from Fort Whyte Plant in Winnipeg. Ross then took a position as caretaker at St. James Lutheran Church until 1993. When Ross lost his eyesight his wife Rose cared for Ross until September 2010. Ross became ill and became a resident of Oakview Place. The family wishes to thank the nurses and support staff of the 2nd floor, Sandy Grove Wing with special gratitude to Kathy and Venus who were on staff at his time of departure. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Drive, interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Extendicare Oakview Place, 2395 Ness Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 1A5 in memory of Ross.
