EVELYN LOIS SAUNDERS (nee VAN DEN BUSSCHE) September 10, 1947 - February 13, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved wife and mother on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at the age of 63, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her brother Dennis, father Theophile and mother Rosa-Maria; and leaves to mourn her husband Frederick Sr., son Frederick Winston Jr., daughters Sherry-Lynn and Pearl; brothers Camille and Ivan; sister Brenda; nephews Mike, Dale and niece Wendy. Evelyn had numerous friends and family throughout Canada. Evelyn, the eldest of five children, was born and raised in St. Boniface. She worked most of her career as a housekeeper at several hotels in the city. She and Fred, married for 42 years, lived and raised their children in Winnipeg. Evelyn enjoyed listening to music, traveling, camping and relaxing on her back deck with her favourite cat Milo. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at CancerCare Manitoba - St. Boniface Unit, Seven Oaks General Hospital and Riverview Health Centre - 3 East Palliative Care Unit for all their loving care they provided to Evelyn. A memorial service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held on Thursday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Evelyn Saunders to Riverview Health Center, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4 or by calling (204) 478-6271.
