Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRONIK (BEN) ZOLUB February 27, 1917 February 14, 2011 On February 14 , 2011 Ben passed away peacefully at the Arborg Personal Care Home. Ben was 93. He leaves to mourn his passing, one brother Nick, and a sister Kay Sewell of Ladysmith, B.C., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all of them. He was predeceased by his parents Dmytro and Mary Zolub, his sisters Carrie Wintony and Rose Patrick, and brother Walter. Ben was born near Silver, MB, on the family farm in the district of Jaroslaw. This is where he lived with his brother Nick until moving to the personal care home in Arborg in July, 2002. Ben loved the farm and the simple life. Although having a disability, he worked as hard as anyone. Many hours were spent working on the farm, picking rocks and tending to livestock. In his later years the garden was his specialty. He especially loved planting potatoes but had an aversion to onions and garlic which his family would often tease him about. He would laugh about it with them and bring a smile to everyone. Ben was always active but when the work was done, it was time to sit quietly and enjoy creation around him. He had a strong belief that one day the whole earth would be a paradise. (Isaiah chapter 35) Ben was very fond of his caregivers at the Arborg Personal Care Home and appreciated each and every one of them. He especially enjoyed the summer outings to the zoo and fishing at Hnausa dock. The family wishes to thank the Personal Care Home staff for the excellent care given to Ben over the past few years and they also thank the many friends who would stop by to visit Ben while he lived there. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Arborg, Manitoba. Eric Segbefia officiating. (Arborg) MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
