Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLUS (CARL) JOSEPH WHITEWAY March 12, 1938 - February 13, 2011 Peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2011 with his wife and family by his side, our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Carl Whiteway of Berens River First Nation, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus at the age of 72 years. Carl leaves to forever love and miss him, his wife Darlene; his children, Leonard (Grace), Cyndy Stoneman, Donna (Hubert), Karen (Geri), Marie, Keith, Roland (Corinne), Brian (Eden), Rudy (Valerie), Larry (Ginger), Ted, Lee and Selena; his stepchildren, Wendy, Mandy, Shawn (Rachel), Shaye, David Harper, who he took as his son/friend; his brothers, Fred Whiteway and George (Josie) Whiteway; his sisters, Gertrude Magnusson and Kathleen Gudjonson; his sisters-in-law, Alice, Freda, Darlene and Helen; 49 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Carl was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Sarah; his brothers, Clifford, Ernest, Michael and twin infants; his sisters, Isla and Eileen; his son, Charles; his grandchildren, Gallen and Laurie; his great-grandchild, Jo-Anna; and his brothers-in-law, Oliver, Haraldur, Elmer, Leonard and Dave. Carl loved the Lord with all his heart. He was humble and always thought of others before himself. Family was very important to him. Carl loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grand-children. The family would like to thank the Teulon and Arborg doctors and nursing staff for their care, special thanks to Dr. Ghaffar and Dr. Pillay. We would also like to thank all our family, friends, Berens River Chief and Council, Health Staff, Community of Berens River and the Fishermen for all their donations. Prayer services to celebrate Carl's life will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 and on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to midnight each evening. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 12:00 p.m., all services will be held at the Deliverance Centre, 1831 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Bishop Ray Cornish officiating. Interment will follow at St. Clement's Cemetery, Selkirk, Manitoba.
