Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMBROSE MODRZEJEWSKI December 7, 1922 February 11, 2011 On Friday, February 11, 2011 in the presence of his family and prayer, Ambrose passed away at Tache Centre at the age of 88 years. Remaining to cherish Ambrose's memory is wife Marjorie (Kulchiski); son Martin (Jan and children Alycia, Julian and Elena); daughter Christine (Barry and children Jason, Michael, Jackie and Nicole); son Paul (Betty and children Samantha, Daniel, Jennifer and Steven; son Bruce (Tracy); Karen (Keith and children Alexandra and Liam); Marjorie's children Brian (Janice and son Ryan); Sandy (Marc and children Stephanie and Lindsay); Debbie (Rick and children Kate and Crystal); adopted grandchildren from next door, Noah and Nathan Anderson; as well as numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his first wife Florence (Kawecki); mother Mary (Kohar); father John; brother Leonard; sister-in-law Dorothy; sister Olive; and brother-in-law Bob. Ambrose was born on December 7, 1922 in Beausejour, MB, baptized in St. Peter St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, and raised on the family farm west of Ladywood, MB. This was to be his home, his career, and one of the great passions in his life. On the family farm, he lived and loved his life to the fullest, marrying Florence, his first wife of 29 years, raising their children, and watching them have families of their own. He was as handsome as he was handy and he loved to help his neighbors, whether with a baseball and glove, a tractor and combine, a hammer and nails, a pencil and paper or guitar and song. He loved the spring as he listened for the joyful return of the songbirds, especially his favorite, the meadowlark. He said he felt like God as he worked the land with reverence and determination; whether he was behind a team of horses or on a tractor seat, under a prairie sky. At the age of 62, Ambrose decided to leave the family farm and retire to the city, for he had met, fell in love, and married his present wife Marjorie. They spent the next 26 years camping, traveling, hosting family dinners, making perogies, and being of service to Christ the King parish as members of the Knights of Columbus and the Red River Seniors. He and Marge led an active and social life, having developed many relationships with fellow parishioners and neighbors. Prayers will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in The Church with Rev. Fr. Renato Pasinato, presiding. The staff at Tache Centre did a remarkable job looking after our father, as well as us, on our last few days together. Thank you so much for your kindness, compassion and the stories that you shared with us. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ambrose's name to Christ the King's Tree of Life Memorial.
