Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY JEAN FRANKLIN (nee MARK) Peacefully, on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, Ruby passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband Les; son-in-law Al Schroeder; sister-in-law Violet Olson; and her six brothers. Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her children Liz Schroeder, Allen (Florrie), Len (Judy), Bob (Dorothy), Bev (Craig Taplin) and Kim (Rick Hodgson). Also remembered by her grandchildren Taralyn Schroeder, Charlene (Ken Storozuk), Kyle (Kim) Franklin, Jamie (Lorraine) Franklin, Lynda (Rheal Lesage), Larry (Mary) Franklin, Kelly Franklin (Dinen Subramaniam), Carla (Jason Lewicki), Lana Franklin, Joel (Samantha) Taplin, Derek (Tina) Taplin, Adam Taplin, Chad Hodgson, Colin Hodgson as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by her cousin Myrna (Norm) Folk and special niece Shirley Allarie, also Doreen Vair and Calvin Peters. Ruby loved to bowl and spent Monday and Wednesday afternoons at St. James Lanes for over 30 years. She was also a lifetime member of the Streamliners Club of Manitoba, Winnipeg Branch. A celebration of Ruby's life will be held on Monday, February 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Ness Avenue Baptist Church, 2700 Ness Avenue, led by Pastor Jeremy Olfert. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
