DOROTHY FARINA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister, friend and aunt, Dorothy on February 18, 2011. Dorothy was born in Zhoda, MB, June 16, 1931 with her twin sister Margaret. Life was great but hard on the farm, stories of walking miles to school in the snow were actually true in her case. Despite hardships they had a loving and great home. In her teens, Dorothy moved to Winnipeg and after some various jobs moved to Toronto and worked for The Bank of Montreal until her retirement. She moved back to Winnipeg for her retirement years. Dorothy loved to go to the race track with her special friends, Jack and Dolly. Dorothy was caring person, if a homeless person asked for money she made them go for lunch with her and made sure they ate. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Peter; brother Morris; sister Elsie; and uncle John. She is survived by her sister Margaret, brother Walter (Irene) and brother Jimmy. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. As per Dorothy's wishes, there will be no formal service held, an interment will be held at a late date in Zhoda. Dorothy appreciated and valued her great friends from the tenth floor of her block. In lieu of flowers, if wished a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awake in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die. Love you, Carol.
